Training skin has three enemies: sweat sitting too long, friction, and the sun.

The routine

  1. Rinse or cleanse after you train, not before. A gentle cleanser; nothing that squeaks.
  2. Moisturize with something light. Oily skin still needs it.
  3. Sunscreen every morning you'll be outside: broad spectrum, SPF 30 or more, and reapply on long runs.

The small things

  • Change out of damp kit soon after class.
  • Clean your headphones and your phone. Your jawline will thank you.
  • Breakouts that won't settle are a dermatologist's job, not a fourth serum's.

Good skin for people who train is mostly about what you take off, not what you put on.
