If you're about to change how you train or eat, a baseline turns opinions into evidence.

DEXA

A low-dose X-ray scan that measures fat, lean mass and bone density by region. It's more precise than bathroom scales or mirrors for tracking body composition. Repeat it every few months at most; small changes are within the margin of error.

VO2 max

A test of how well your body uses oxygen during hard exercise, usually on a treadmill or bike with a mask. It's a strong marker of fitness, and it's a satisfying number to improve.

Bloodwork

A panel ordered by a clinician can check things like blood counts, cholesterol, blood sugar and, where relevant, hormones. Results need a clinician's interpretation, not just a dashboard.
