Getting back to training after an injury is a skill. Rush it and you'll be back at the start.
First, the right diagnosis
Pain that's sharp, getting worse, or comes with swelling, numbness or weakness needs a professional look. A physiotherapist or sports-medicine doctor is a better first call than a forum.
Then, a plan
Good rehab is mostly exercise: gradually loading the injured area so it can handle more. Expect it to take weeks, sometimes months, and to feel slow.
Signs you're ready to progress
- You can do the rehab exercises without pain getting worse the next day.
- Strength and range are close to the other side.
- Your physio agrees.
Returning to classes
Start with lower-intensity versions, tell every instructor, and skip anything that provokes the injury. Re-introduce one hard thing at a time.
Patience now is speed later.
